The Kübler family has been associated with absinthe since 1863, when the house first began distilling in Val-de-Travers. From its earliest days, it established a reputation grounded in precision and fidelity to traditional methods.
When absinthe was banned in Switzerland, the family adapted without abandoning its craft by continuing its activities through the distillation and trade of wines and spirits. The knowledge endured, preserved quietly across generations.
In 1990, Yves Kübler, great-grandson of the founder, undertook the revival of the house’s absinthe legacy. He began by developing authorized anise-based aperitifs, including La Rincette, before committing himself to the return of an authentic absinthe, faithful to family tradition and compliant with evolving Swiss regulations. After sustained dialogue with the authorities, he obtained the right to produce an absinthe extract, a decisive step preceding the full re-legalization of absinthe in Switzerland a few years later.
Today, Yves Kübler carries this heritage beyond the Valley, ensuring that a lineage born in 1863 continues to resonate internationally.
