Return & refund

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unopened, unused, with any seals intact, and in its original packaging. You'll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

How to Initiate a Return

To start a return, you must first contact us at support@maison-absinthe.ch to request authorization.

Please provide the following information in your return request:

  • Your order number
  • Your name
  • The items you wish to return
  • The reason for your return

Once your return request is approved, we will provide you with detailed return instructions, including the return address and, if applicable, a shipping label.

Important: Items sent back to us without first requesting and receiving return authorization will not be accepted.

Return Shipping Costs

You are responsible for paying return shipping costs when sending items back to us.

We will refund your return shipping costs only if we confirm upon inspection that the return is due to our error (damaged items, defective products, wrong items shipped, or items not matching the description).

Return shipping costs are not refunded for returns due to change of mind or other reasons unrelated to our error.

Damages and Issues

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately at support@maison-absinthe.ch if the item is defective, damaged, or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. Once we confirm the issue upon inspection, we will refund your return shipping costs.

What Can and Cannot Be Returned

Products That CANNOT Be Returned

The following items cannot be returned under any circumstances, except when damaged, defective, or incorrectly shipped by us:

Alcoholic products:

  • Absinthe and spirits (bottles)
  • Other alcoholic beverages

Perishable food products:

  • Chocolates and confectionery
  • Any food items with limited shelf life
  • Pantry items that are perishable in nature

Opened or unsealed products:

  • Any item with broken seals, opened packaging, or signs of use
  • This applies to all product categories

Custom or personalized items:

  • Special orders made to customer specifications
  • Personalized or engraved products

Products That CAN Be Returned

The following items may be returned within 14 days if they are unopened, unused, with seals intact, and in original packaging:

Accessories:

  • Glassware (absinthe glasses, tumblers, etc.)
  • Bar tools and equipment
  • Serving accessories

Books and printed materials:

  • Books about absinthe, spirits, and cocktails
  • Guides and educational materials

Merchandising:

  • Branded apparel
  • Decorative items
  • Gift items

Non-perishable pantry items:

  • Shelf-stable products with long shelf life
  • Items that do not require refrigeration

Non-alcoholic beverages:

  • Unopened non-alcoholic drinks with intact seals

Exception for damaged or incorrect items: Even products listed as non-returnable (such as alcoholic beverages and perishable food) may be returned if they arrive damaged, defective, or if we shipped the wrong item. In these cases, please contact us immediately upon receipt.

Exchanges

To request an exchange, please contact us at support@maison-absinthe.ch with the same information required for returns:

  • Your order number
  • Your name
  • The items you wish to exchange
  • The reason for the exchange
  • The items you would like to receive instead

Once your exchange request is approved and we receive your returned item, you can place a new order for the replacement item.

Refunds

We will notify you once we've received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you'll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Please note regarding return shipping costs:

  • If the return is due to our error (damaged, defective, or wrong items), we will refund both the product cost and your return shipping costs once we confirm the issue upon inspection.
  • If the return is for any other reason (such as change of mind), the return shipping costs you paid will not be refunded.
